Working with Employers

Liver BuildingFurther Education Colleges are very keen to work with local business to meet the training needs of their employees. We have well established dedicated qualified employer responsive/ business development teams that can help employers develop a well trained, efficient workforce. The Colleges can provide advice, support and training opportunities at a time and place to suit the employer and they have experience of working with thousands of local employers of all sizes across numerous sectors.

Colleges on Merseyside provide learning and training opportunities for learners of all ages, through foundation tier to level 6 including GCSEs, A-levels, BTEC, HNC, HND, NVQs and Degree-level qualifications.

Higher Education Provision

Working with a variety of higher education Institutions, the majority of Colleges across Merseyside are able to offer HE level courses providing considerable value for money to the learner and employer where applicable. Colleges offer programmes of study in a variety of subjects on a part time basis.

Supporting Apprenticeships on Merseyside

Further Education colleges on Merseyside fully support Apprenticeships and provide many opportunities themselves. Across Merseyside the Colleges deliver training to support over 80 apprenticeships frameworks at different educational levels and across different work sectors aimed at different age groups.

Colleges work with the National Apprenticeship Service and the Skills Funding Agency to develop this provision to meet the needs of local employers and are well placed to help employers find the right apprentice to work in your organisation

Several Merseyside colleges have been classed as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted inspectors .

Colleges on Merseyside provide a high level of training and advice for employers across a variety of sectors and industries.

Many colleges providing employer services have achieved TQS (Training Quality Standard) accreditation, which recognised and celebrated the best organisations delivering training and development solutions to employers.

Many colleges on Merseyside have also achieved Matrix accreditation. The Matrix Standard is the unique quality framework for the effective delivery of information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work.

All colleges have been approved as ‘Investors in People’ including gold standard.
